Talata Dark Clay Planter

Talata Dark Clay Planter

This planter is inspired by the aesthetic balance and beauty of the Sabean language, an ancient language from the Arab Peninsula dating back to 1200 BCE. The kingdom of Saba has been identified as the biblical land of The Queen of Sheba, the frankincense and spice merchant.

The base is thrown on the wheel and the handle accents are then carefully added by hand. A loop detail is added so that it can be used as a tabletop or hanging planter.

Three holes are placed at the base to allow for easy watering and the inside is sealed with an off white glaze to avoid water and earth stains. The rest of the mug is left raw to accent the smooth dark clay.
