Baobab Incense Burner in Watercolor Pink with Incense

The Baobab Shape

The majestic Baobab tree is native to the African savannah and is an icon of the African continent. This prehistoric tree is knowns as ‘The Tree of life’ and predates mankind as well as the splitting of the continents. This tree is the world’s largest succulent- it can store up to 32,000 gallons of water in its large trunk during the raining season and uses that water to bear its fruit in the dry season. Baobab trees can live up to 5,000 years and are a symbol of strength, presence, and grace.

The Incense Burner

These incense burners are completely built by hand, giving them and organic shape and making each one-of-a-kind. The brushed two toned glaze is created by starting with a taupe clay base and brushing on a porcelain slip (liquified clay), and then a matte white glaze. They have a hole in the center that fits an incense stick perfectly, and the bowl of the shape collects incense ash as the incense burns.

The Incense

I am gifting a sampler of incenses from my friends at In Causa. Each sampler includes a stick of their white sage, breu, and palo santo incense.
